Who we are
MTM Electric is a Florida Certified Electrical Contractor based in Coral Springs, owned and run by Mark McLaughlin, license EC13012509. He started the company on the Treasure Coast and moved it to Coral Springs, where MTM Electric now serves homeowners and small businesses across Broward and Palm Beach County.
We are a small crew on purpose. The person who quotes your job is the person who shows up to do it, and the person who meets the inspector is the same one who pulled the wire. Nothing gets handed off to a subcontractor.
How we work
Itemized, in writing
Materials and labor broken out, so you can see what each part costs.
Permits handled
When your city requires a permit, we pull it and meet the inspector. Unpermitted work is a problem you inherit at closing.
We do not upsell
If a repair fixes it, we repair it. A customer who expected a rewire and got a switch repair is the story we want told.
Clean, and on time
Drop cloths down, debris out, power back on the same day whenever the job allows.
The bill, line by line
Before you pay, we walk the invoice with you and answer anything on it.
Certified, not just licensed
Florida issues two kinds of electrical contractor license, and most homeowners never hear about the difference. Handymen and unlicensed "electricians" cannot pull a permit at all, which is why so much work in older South Florida homes was never inspected.
Certified Electrical Contractor (what we hold)
Issued by the state after a proctored exam on the National Electrical Code and Florida Building Code, documented years of experience, and proof of financial responsibility. Valid in every county in Florida.
Registered Electrical Contractor
A local competency card, registered with the state, that only allows work in the city or county that issued it. A real license with a lower bar and a smaller territory.
Why it matters to you
The Certified license lets us pull permits in any Broward or Palm Beach municipality and sign off on work your insurer and inspector will accept.
